Chapter One

(18076–18176, Era of Frost Veil) Member of the Rogue Squad. At the end of the Sacred Dragon War, the kingdom's offensive pushed the Alliance back, cutting off Namuheim from their front lines. A brutal siege soon followed. Soon after the siege began, the Kingdom launched fierce offensives against Namuheim, including a failed infiltration that caused significant damage. The only orphanage in the city was reduced to rubble. The surviving orphans were taken in by the soldiers, and an Orccodro child was named Debbie. Because she was too young, Debbie wasn't assigned to a combat role. However, Debbie was dissatisfied; she preferred fighting. Food was prioritized for combat personnel, leaving others with just enough to survive. Moreover, not being assigned to a combat position did not mean that the work was not grueling or dangerous. For example, carrying supplies through narrow tunnels, sneaking out at night to gather dragon intel, or darting across the battlefield to evacuate the wounded…Even repairing weapons with the blacksmiths in the rear became a rare respite. Cold, hunger, disease, death, despair, and exhaustion gripped her daily, tempting her to give up, but Debbie never considered it. Debbie had no choice. Despite some help, she endured the suffering alone, finding every way to survive until…After a prolonged siege, the Alliance lifted the Kingdom's blockade of Namuheim, leaving only Debbie to care for the surviving orphans. The prolonged siege shaped Debbie, leaving her with lasting skills: infiltration, navigation, knowledge of dwarven equipment, and the habit of constantly stuffing things in her mouth. After the siege, with nowhere else to go, Debbie stayed with the Alliance and chose to seek out the Orccodro warlords. Most Orccodro warlords doubted the small, food-loving girl could be of much help. After drifting through several armies, one warlord recognized her talents and appointed her quartermaster. Thus, Quartermaster Debbie took up her position. The war was struggling, but Debbie excelled, gaining prestige for ensuring supplies reached the front-line safely and on time, even under the toughest conditions. Until one day, a strange "guest" arrived in the army—Karin.

Chapter Two

It was said that when the "guest" arrived, they were received by the warlord's aide, Rosalyn, who was familiar with Debbie. But Debbie had little interest in the "guest"; she just wanted to work hard and fill her stomach. On the night the guest arrived, Rosalyn informed Debbie that the warlord planned to replace her with a more reliable confidant who would erase all traces of Debbie. As she urged Debbie to leave, Rosalyn also asked for her help in rescuing the "guest" and helping them escape from the warlord. Feeling indebted for the message, Debbie agreed without much hesitation. Together, Rosalyn and Debbie rescued the imprisoned Karin, and Debbie led the three of them to evade the warlord's pursuit. After safely meeting up with Dolores, Debbie planned to part ways with them. But both Rosalyn and Karin were impressed by Debbie's talents, so they persuaded Dolores to offer a proposal.Dolores would first make a deal with Debbie, then reveal their plan to steal the Key of the Moon. However, they were still missing a member. They hoped Debbie would temporarily join their team. If Debbie helped them acquire the Key of the Moon, she'd receive a fair reward. And the Key of the Moon was said to be held by the Dragon Queen, Danni, at the front lines of the main battlefield. Debbie cared little for the treasure theft, but the promise of a fortune that would secure her future convinced her to agree. The road to the battlefield wasn't smooth. The closer they got there, the tougher to keep going. They had to take perilous mountain paths. Finally, Karin guided them to the main battlefield where the Kingdom and the Alliance were clashing, approaching the Kingdom's camp. First, Dolores learned the position and defenses of Danni's camp from an "acquaintance." Then, Rosalyn created a small disturbance, allowing Debbie to infiltrate the camp and locate Danni's tent. If exposed, Debbie would be burned by Danni and her guards. But thanks to the darkness and her stealth, she pulled off a miracle. Debbie stole the Key and overheard Danni communicating with angels via a ring.Escalate the war, the "Temple" needed more sacrifices.Debbie shivered as cold, hunger, plague, death, despair, and exhaustion flashed in her mind—all things she had once experienced...At a loss but by some strange impulse, she slipped the ring into her pocket as well. When Danni discovered her tent had been robbed, the team had escaped and was heading toward the Alliance. The ring went to the Alliance, and the Key to Dolores. The contract with Debbie was complete, but surprisingly, she was the first to ask a question. Why had they stolen the Key? Why were the angels and dragons on the same side? Dolores answered because the Divine Dragon was Jancis. And they had stolen the Key to open a portal to the Abyss, where the "Temple" was located. Inside that Temple, the god was conducting experiments that required countless souls. This was why the world was filled with war. The true goal of the Rogue Squad was to enter the Temple and steal peace. Although Debbie had asked the question and received an answer, she still couldn't know her role in it. Soon, Danni, eager to retrieve the Key, led her army into a full assault. To avoid the battle, the Squad hurried toward their next objective. The Squad surely couldn't refuse this ally, even though Debbie was in a loss yet—still, they continued to travel together. The next goal for the Squad was to...Find Calliopsis, the Orccodro who held Dolores' portal, and use the Key to activate it. This journey was even more perilous than the last, with the dragon army hunting them, led by Danni herself. There were several times when the team was pushed to the brink of destruction, but Debbie always managed to find a way out.And so, the pursued Squad reached the Orccodro army of Yasor and met Calliopsis. Debbie had to decide what to do for herself. If she did nothing now, destruction and the end would continue to spread across the world... and no one would be saved. Debbie wanted to help the Squad reach the end... if there was hope for peace. With the Key of the Moon and the Abyss portal in hand, they still needed time and more hands to open it. The only option was to seek help from Yasor, but she refused—focused on protecting her people from Danni and her elite guards—until Calliopsis convinced her. With Yasor's mages, the Squad opened the Abyss portal, but she stayed behind to confront Danni and her elite guards, where she was killed.

Chapter Three

The squad finally reached the Abyss, though Danni's interference had diverted them from their original goal of the sacred temple. At least they were close. The Abyss was too treacherous for the unprepared squad. Overwhelmed by despair deeper than during the siege, Debbie took one last look at the open Abyssal Portal…She had joined the squad simply to survive, and it isn't too late to turn back. But in the end, Debbie took a step forward, descending deeper into the Abyss...She had endured too much suffering. Pressing on might end the torment— the God's laboratory.Even if it was just the faintest glimmer of hope, it was enough to give her the strength to keep moving forward. The squad fought their way toward the dragon's temple, but with the loss of the Key of the Moon, its defenses were now nearly impenetrable. As the squad neared their goal, stalled and powerless, the demons attacked, drawing away most of the temple's defenders—and that was enough. With a final, desperate push, the squad breached the temple. Dolores, holding the Key of the Moon, led them to its innermost chamber. As the Key activated, the "Storm of Sorrow" began. The disaster struck swiftly; without help, the squad wouldn't have escaped the Abyss unscathed. The "Storm of Sorrow" appeared to have destroyed the God's laboratory, stopping the war's source beneath the Abyss. Both the Kingdom and the Alliance, devastated by natural disasters, had no choice but to call a ceasefire. Debbie reacted with calm indifference to the result, continuing to devour the strange delicacies she had brought back from the Abyss. She knew a perfect resolution was impossible. Delaying the inevitable wouldn't ease the cow's fate. This was the best outcome a band of thieves could hope for.. Lifting the siege brought hope for prosperity. Peace was essential for the people's dreams, as the future remained paramount. And for that future, there was still much left for her to do. After receiving her reward from Dolores and saying goodbye to the Rogue Squad, Debbie bit a piece from each of them before quietly vanishing. Debbie wandered the devastated world, witnessing its destruction, before deciding to join various reconstruction efforts as a scout and surveyor. In this new era, with mountains and rivers reshaped by disaster, Debbie used her skills to reconnect civilizations and chart safer, faster routes. Few knew the true identity of this small, food-obsessed, talented individual who often seemed dazed and rarely interacted. Only a few old acquaintances saw her in a brighter light.Debbie's final project was using all her savings to rebuild her hometown, Namuheim, including an orphanage. Debbie managed the small orphanage for the rest of her life, eventually being laid to rest in its backyard. During her time in charge, every child in the orphanage never once went hungry.

Historical Notes

Namuheim: A small city between two mountains in southern Ciaran, it was a humble trade town before the Sacred Dragon War. As the dragons approached, it expanded and fortified, becoming a stronghold. Namuheim played a pivotal role in repelling the kingdom's armies, enduring multiple sieges, yet it never fell to the enemy until the end of the Sacred Dragon War. The Sacred Temple in the Abyss: A heavily guarded temple in the Abyssal dragon territories is the legendary Rogue Squad's final destination and the key to unlocking the "Storm of Sorrow." Key of the Moon: The Key of the Moon is a powerful artifact that can open the Abyssal Portal, but dark rumors hint at its sinister potential. Originally entrusted to Dragon Queen Danni, the Key was mysteriously stolen by Debbie, a treasure hunter, igniting the events of the "Storm of Sorrow." The Ring of Communication with Angels: A ring that enables communication with angels, kept by Dragon Queen Danni for divine orders, was stolen by Debbie and used as proof for the Alliance. How Debbie managed to eavesdrop and steal the ring remains unclear in the historical records.
