Overview
An angel renowned throughout the world and a beacon of joy in the Heavenly Realm. She delights in engaging with humanity and heeding their wishes. Though her power is not overwhelming, she is loved and well-known by mortals. Her crossbow is armed with arrows of two kinds: one that bestows healing and can inspire love, and another, a weighty leaden bolt, capable of inflicting harm and misfortune.
Chapter One
(Era of Rebirth 23–Era of Eternal Flame 18194) After the Dusk War, the land fractured from flat to spherical. In turbulent times, the God of Elements created angels to govern and maintain order in the world.
Churchill was created to bring order to Mirren, marking the start of Mirren's threads of destiny.
Thanks to Churchill, Jancis could finally empower Mirren with an understanding of destiny and soul rules. Yet, Churchill's mischief occasionally troubled the usually solemn Heavenly Realm.
Churchill often played pranks in the Heavenly Realm and frequently slipped down to the human world for fun.
The Archangel was displeased with her behavior and had punished Churchill with her own hands.
But the Archangel remembered Churchill's role: she governed the emotions and desires of all sentient beings in Mirren. Without her, humanity would lack emotion, creativity, and civilization, leaving Sarah powerless against her.
Churchill shared her writings and paintings of human stories with the angels in Heaven. Sadly, the angels, unable to grasp human emotions, dismissed her creations as meaningless.
This frustrated Churchill. Her playful and innocent nature clashed with the boring life in the Heavenly Realm. Feeling closer to humans than to angels, Churchill longed for the human world.
Among all the angels, Churchill was the most annoyed by Sinkou. As the angel of emotions, Churchill could manipulate others' emotions, including those of angels.
When Churchill caused trouble, the angels tasked with punishing her were often lenient due to her manipulation.
Only Sinkou remained unaffected, always impartially treating Churchill's pranks as serious offenses against the Heavenly Realm's authority.
Over time, a grudge formed between them. But Sinkou's high status made it hard for Churchill to find a chance for revenge.
Still, as the saying went, good things happened to those who had waited.
Chapter Two
Despite the plentiful energy in the Heavenly Realm, Sinkou's daily rounds demand so much that they ultimately strain her body.
As a result, Sinkou occasionally has to recharge with energy from the Heavenly Realm. When Luzvinia is resting, Sarah steps in to fulfill her duties.
Gazing at the glowing orb enveloping Sinkou, Churchill is struck with inspiration for a cunning plan. Aware of her vulnerability, he contemplates using his emotional influence to make her feel guilt.
Indeed, even the lofty "Sun Deity" would be brought to tears and inspired to apologize for her past severity!
Having quietly evaded the guards, Churchill faces Sinkou, yet the blinding light of the orb makes it impossible for him to approach and evoke guilt.
Churchill berates herself for overlooking that Sinkou radiates the primordial light of creation, which now cocooned her in protective brilliance.
The primordial radiance absorbs nearly all energy, threatening to dissolve angels, whose very forms are made of energy, unless a potent force stabilizes them.
Feeling disheartened, Churchill withdraws but remains resolute; after poring over various texts, she uncovers a new approach, a surprising feat for a reluctant reader.
Light is one of the two primal forces that were present at Mirren's birth; it fosters all growth and is the source of Sinkou's power.
For every light, there is an equal darkness; they are intrinsically linked.
She who wields the dark as an art is the Archangel Sarah.
With Sarah's power, Churchill is certain that she can approach Sinkou.
Currently, Sarah, fulfilling Sinkou's role, has trapped her dark forces in the weapon "Glory," which Churchill must acquire to advance her strategy.
At this thought, a foolish grin monsters over Churchill's face. The Angel of Emotion has yet to realize the dire consequences that may be wrought by her intended actions.
Chapter Three
No matter how she did it, Churchill stole Sarah's weapon, the "Glory." With intense focus, she slashed at the glowing orb created by Sinkou.
Churchill once thought the power of darkness would merge with light and eventually disappear. But unexpectedly, the glowing orb exploded after shaking violently for a moment.
Millions of flames burst from the orb, shooting into the human world. Most landed in the oceans, but some reached the continents, with the desert region of Elgron bearing the brunt of the attack.
The Heavenly Realm faced an unprecedented crisis. Sinkou, acting on instinct, began attacking anything she perceived as a threat.
Churchill was fortunate to possess the "Glory," which shielded her from the chaos created by the law of darkness.
When Sinkou regained her composure and ceased her attacks, she stared blankly at the bewildered Churchill, unsure of what had transpired.
The fallout was severe enough for Jancis to personally order Churchill's grounding in the Heavenly Realm. Churchill would rather die than be confined in such a restricted space.
Still, many angels felt she deserved harsher punishment but accepted Jancis's decision.
That was until Churchill made another major mistake later on.
"Churchill, a Werth Angel responsible for human love, you've caused chaos among mortals. Monarchs burned statues of many gods and began to worship you instead. Do you plead guilty?"
A group of Werth Angels surrounded the archangel, who had committed a crime far worse than stealing the "Glory." No one dared to defend her.
"Honorable archangel, I believe we should prioritize the current chaos over deciding Churchill's punishment. Humanity urgently needs faith; we should select a prophet to restore order and stability."
Homura offered this rational suggestion, ultimately saving Churchill.
Churchill hadn't really paid attention to the human world. The thought of inciting the Monarchs to destroy Jancis's statues was unbearable to her.
Jancis chose not to punish Churchill, swayed by Homura's argument. Churchill realized she had narrowly escaped this time.
After all, she was the angel of love. Sarah was just upset and wouldn't bring it up again once she calmed down.
This incident genuinely frightened Churchill. Despite her boldness, she refrained from visiting the human world without good reason. Still, her followers continued to grow, and she gradually became one of the most renowned angels among humans.
Her fate is well known. In 18194, the Era of Frost Veil, Churchill the Angel of Emotion was slain in the Godslayer War by Istar, one of the Seven Sacred Asters.
Now, the angel rests peacefully in the Sea of Order. Without Jancis and Sarah around, who knows what trouble the bold angel might cause?
Historical Notes
Meteor Shower:
In 24192 of the Era of Rebirth, a meteor exploded over Loisford, cracking its walls. At that moment, Elene Talier was born; her cry reportedly halted the destructive wave, and her fiery red hair was seen as a divine sign, a belief upheld by the nobility. She led the kingdom to its peak. During the Pact of Jancis, the meteor shower gained mythic significance, and by the Era of Frost Veil, historians interpreted it as a warning from angels, a view reinforced by Velarra's decline.
Werth:
These angels, created under specific rules, are stronger than ordinary Engjells and assist Jancis in overseeing the mortal realm. Depending on their initial power, they may have two or four wings. Werth manage the powers granted by Jancis and maintain order between the Heavenly Realm and earth. Many deities mentioned in various eras refer to these angels.
