This Orccodro was abandoned in the woods as an infant. Thanks to her ability to command thunder and lightning, she can navigate the treacherous Black Forest with ease. As she matured, she set off on a quest across the lands, driven by an unquenchable curiosity. Legends born during her journey led to the bards giving her the moniker "The Thunderous Beast".
Chapter One
(4511–Unknown, Era of Frost Veil) Abandoned as an infant in Galadriel Forest, Annex's origins as an Orccodro remained a mystery.
A widely accepted story was that Annex was raised by a panda, and the Angel Blades she wielded came from the panda's treasure hoard.
But why a wild giant panda would possess the legendary Angel Blades remains unknown.
Whether due to her racial talent or the Angel Blades, Annex had controlled lightning since childhood, with her power growing stronger over time.
At the same time, her appearance underwent dramatic changes, with large ears and a second tail setting her apart from any known race.
Her peculiar traits went largely unnoticed in the vast Galadriel Forest, where everyone was preoccupied with playing tricks on humans.
Thanks to the human she fooled, Annex's reputation quickly spread through the forest.
The little Thunderclaw had no malicious intent, just caused storms and eerie noises at night, scaring the humans. Over time, the story got exaggerated.
Some frightened adventurers, to save face, even began worshiping Annex as the legendary God of Thunder.
Of course, the truth eventually surfaced. She was just a mischievous Thunderclaw! They were duped by a cheeky Thunderclaw! They must capture her.
The little Thunderclaw, without a tribe, was always solitary. Though stronger than most wild beasts, she had no ambition to seize territory.
Wandering all day, the little Thunderclaw lived a carefree life.
"Adorable Annex is off on an adventure!!!"
Chapter Two
Upon the founding of the Kingdom of Gorel, borderlands battled swamp monsters, leading to a deep hatred for forest creatures. This sparked the "Monster Purge," a crusade to cleanse the land of many monsters.
Driven by animosity, humans and monsters drifted further apart, the once majestic forest turning into the feared "Dark Forest" of myths.
The monsters of Galadriel Forest, disorganized and overwhelmed, found their territories steadily shrinking under the kingdom's power. Many sought refuge in the forest's deep, mysterious depths.
Home, to Thunderclaw, was a weave of environment and camaraderie, with little attachment to Galadriel.
Growing up, Thunderclaw felt compelled to venture beyond her realm. She longed to see the cities built by humans and admire their creations.
And so, our cheerful protagonist plunged into the human realm unprepared, gleefully cheering herself on as she went.
"Annex! It's time! Off we go!"
Annex naively approached the city, acknowledged by the guards before entering. They had to defer to the High Bishop's intervention.
The High Bishop, astute and crafty, at once identified Annex as the Thunderclaw, sought after for a lucrative bounty. He enticed Annex with promises of fascinating treasures, exposing his deceitful motives.
Aware of the deception, Annex confronted the High Bishop, disrupting the Gorel Knighthood and escaping unnoticed in the night.
Tired of the mundane human world, the Thunderclaw returned to Galadriel Forest, but found it drastically altered, with monsters uniting into strong factions.
Apoffis, a Gorgon, invited the young Thunderclaw to join in defying humanity—an offer Annex firmly rejected.
"Annex yearns for a voyage to greater realms! Let's embark! "
Chapter Three
Leaving the Galadriel Forest, Annex begins a new adventure.
Her work involves teaching troublesome lords lessons, driving away marauding knights, and even solving droughts.
Her joy in life lies in freedom and creating both good and bad legends wherever she goes.
At that time, the renowned Thunderclaw appeared at human gatherings, adored for its cute appearance and cheerful personality.
The last time the Ciaran people saw Thunderclaw was at a gathering, where Annex noticed a liquid-like substance on the ground.
She feels the substance resembles her, due to their shared angelic essence, and places it in a small bottle to take with her.
They travel through grasslands and over snow-capped mountains from Rumburgh to the sea.
Annex starts her journey at sea. Will legends of the Thunderclaw exist in distant lands?
Historical Notes
Galadriel Forest:
This immense "black forest" lies to the east of the Scarlet Bastion. Influenced by the nearby Ansebog, it is home to numerous monsters. Its gnarled trees and teeming dangers make it one of Ciaran's most perilous no-go zones.
Ring of Angels:
Few angels was active during the Evolutionary Shuffle. Notable figures include Saberlyn the Void Specter, Beatrice the Demon Slayer, Messiah the Infinity Halo, and Phoebe the Goddess of the Moon. Since only Saberlyn and Beatrice were active before the birth of Annex, it was no doubt that her thunder-based powers derived from Saberlyn.
Kingdom of Gorel:
(4529–7475, Era of Frost Veil) Goerl rose as a dominant power in the south following the split of Dotur Dynasty, establishing a tense north-south divide. It embraced a governance style blending political and religious oversight, continuing the traditions of the Hilbeyan age.
Monster Purge:
(4531–4539, Era of Frost Veil) The Kingdom of Gorel launched a purge against the monsters surrounding Galadriel Forest. This campaign escalated into a major conflict, encouraging monsters to overlook racial differences and unite. This led to the largest amalgamation in Mirren's history.
