Chapter One

(Era of Frost Veil 18183–Era of Eternal Flame 42) Dorothy, a child with some dwarf blood, was born in the slums during a chaotic era and was adopted by the elf Sally.
After the Storm of Sorrow, the dragons were devastated, and the alliance failed to rebuild defenses. Former soldiers began plundering civilians, leaving many families, including Dorothy's, displaced.
The elf Sally adopted the strong-willed Dorothy. At five, Dorothy was forced back to the slum when Sally went out one day and never returned.
Enduring hardships requires hope. Dorothy, from a young age, admired Pope Ace, who also came from poverty. Even though she had only read a few of Ace's biographies, they left a profound impact on her.
To Dorothy, the Pope seemed as distant as the stars, yet she was also born in the slums. This gave Dorothy hope that with effort, her life would improve, a belief that helped her endure many hardships.
In her dreams, the Pope was bathed in holy light, always just out of sight. Dorothy woke up whenever she tried to reach out to her.
Gradually, Dorothy heard rumors about Ace. Decades ago, the church that had ruled Ciaran for millennia collapsed overnight.
When the dragons' secrets surfaced, Pope Ace, Jancis's human representative, was the first target. The angry people forgot all the good she had done.
Driven mad by hatred and fear, the mobs lost all reason. Before the dragons' flames arrived, they only wanted to execute the Pope they saw as hypocritical.
The news of Ace's execution spread quickly across Mirren, and people rejoiced as if the dragons would disappear the next day.

Chapter Two

Driven by a quest for justice, Dorothy aligned herself with the church, despite its diminished stature. She aimed to embody the monarch's spirit, believing humanity's redemption hinged on it.
She rejected the world the Nova suggested, despite its promise of peace. How many worshipped at the Gate of Heaven under duress, not by choice?
She desired a world where hard work was duly rewarded, instead of sacrificing freedom for mere appearances of wealth.
Often, the world doesn't revolve around personal desires; the people of Mirren endured endless conflict. How many among them simply wished to exist?
But how effective can one person be in such a world? Dorothy, sharing doctrines she barely comprehends with her followers, faces a battle she is bound to lose.
For many, survival outweighs freedom and progress. When basic survival is threatened, everything else loses its meaning.
The church's decline is unavoidable, and the young cleric cannot sway the masses. All she can do is remain steadfast in her beliefs.
Under the new order, Lord Deity assumes all sin, a process spanning decades. Meanwhile, human desires intensify, plunging the world deeper into chaos.
Dorothy dreams of rebuilding the church, convinced that Es can lead a new world. Her goal is to unite people for mutual support, oblivious to her growing enslavement to desire.

Chapter Three

As companions depart, Dorothy realizes her ideal world is coming to fruition: poverty and hunger vanish, and people grow wealthier.
Her church, devoted to the old gods, is no longer targeted by the government, as Lord Deity believes its doctrine inherently promotes goodness.
Only those things that people yearn for possess a mystique and appeal. Would a religion retain believers if its secrets become common knowledge?
Yes, one such believer is Rosalie, a devoted supporter of Dorothy. As an elf, Rosalie is a gifted bard, spreading the doctrine of the old gods through her songs.
Dorothy and Rosalie travel around Mirren to share their ideas, but find no audience. Those who experienced Godslayer War are content with their current peaceful lives, and children have been bathed in Lord Deity's blessing since the day they are born.
After Lord Deity achieves his great work, everything becomes meaningless. In 28, the Era of Eternal Flame, Lord Deity takes all original sin to himself.
And Mirren, as many have hoped for 120,000 years, finally ushers in true peace.
"Your Majesty, is this the world you envisioned?"

Historical Notes

Missing Sally:
In 18188 of the Era of Frost Veil, 25 years after the emergence of Lord Deity, realms including the Abyss, Elgron, southern Ciaran, and the Zinew Archipelago had fallen under divine control. It was finally the Elves' turn. The Gate of Heaven issued an ultimatum. By then, Melidie had made her decision. She ordered Katherine and Asher to seize all High Elves abroad to forestall any retaliation against her plan. Therefore Sally was confined.
