Personal Info

A member of Carefree Sanctuary, Saico was well-read from a young age, with a wide-ranging grasp of astronomy, geography, and history.
Raised in the Orphanage, later adopted by Lu Xuan, she excelled in both martial arts and academics under his guidance.
However, her petite stature made some Explorers doubt her abilities at first.
Yet Saico thought being small gave her an advantage over other Explorers in delicate operations since her unassuming appearance often fooled enemies into underestimating her.
Plus, her unquestioned brilliance in the Abyss quickly silenced any doubts.

Chronicles

When I first met Miss Saico, I mistook her for a clueless rookie. Thought I'd be generous and teach her the ropes...
Then, weeks passed, and it turned out I was the clueless one all along...
Her knowledge of the Abyss, monsters, and field operations completely eclipses mine. Even our captain goes to her for advice.
Sure, I should've asked, but still... she played along like she didn't know any better. That's just... sneaky. Ugh, I'm so embarrassed...
— An Explorer

Sister Saico is the most knowledgeable person ever! She has an answer for everything, even Uncle comes to her for advice.
She handles pretty much everything—action plans, combat arrangements, battle commands—you name it!
No one ever disagrees with her decisions, not even Aria. Amazing, right?!
— Ciel from Carefree Sanctuary

One time, Ciel and I were handling a monster outbreak and almost didn't make it back! We got surrounded by over a dozen, no, dozens of monsters. It was really dangerous.
Luckily, Sister Saico showed up just in time. She used a bunch of clever "trinkets" to distract the monsters so we could escape.
What? It should be "tricks," you said? Pfft, whatever, you get the idea.
Scared? Of course not! No matter where we go, Sister Saico always finds us super fast.
But that's also why we can never sneak out to play. She catches us every single time. You can never fool her.
— Aria from Carefree Sanctuary

Record

Since joining the squad, the team rarely saw Saico rest.
When not on missions, she was either buried in books, checking over supplies for the next mission, or drilling her younger sisters in combat.
Though members often urged her to take breaks, her usual reply was: "This is my way of resting."
Strangely enough, she never showed signs of exhaustion. Perhaps, as she claimed, anything unrelated to battle truly counted as relaxation for her.

Despite her duties with the team, Saico never neglected her responsibilities to Carefree Sanctuary.
In her spare moments, she gathered intel on nearby monsters and would take the initiative to eliminate threats before they could escalate.
Thanks to her efforts, monster attacks in the area had dropped significantly since her arrival.
That said, this newfound security had an unintended side effect: some patrol members grew complacent.
Adjustments to the patrols are suggested. The new squad will have Saico as the leader and a few members assisting her. The change would both enhance safety and improve patrol efficiency.

Anecdote

Saico always wore an oversized hat, its wide brim nearly covering her tiny frame, making her appear even smaller.
She liked that hat. Even in sleep, she kept it draped over her or placed within sight, where she could see it the moment she woke.

Long ago, an Orphanage teacher stumbled upon the body of a woman frozen in a strange, protective posture on a business trip in the Abyss.
She was no longer breathing and the body grew cold.
Upon approaching, the teacher found an infant wrapped in the folds of a large hat beneath her. She was too weak to even cry.

"I used to think I was like the other orphans. Abandoned by my parents."
"But when I finally gathered the courage to ask about my past, my teacher gave me this hat and told me everything."
"That's when I learned I once had a mother who loved me deeply."
"Part of me was relieved that I hadn't been thrown away. But another part ached. I had no memories of her."
"If only I could remember something, even a fragment. Just enough to see her face in my dreams."
"Ah, but I'm getting sentimental. It's sad I couldn't grow up without her around, but I've never felt like something was missing."
"The Orphanage faculty, Lu Xuan, my brothers and sisters. They're all my precious family. With them, I've never been alone."
"Oh, and don't you dare tell the little ones about this! If they found out my soft underbelly, how can I set an example for them?"

Whenever I dreamed of my mother, I saw her standing tall in front of her, just like wearing this hat.
She would always be my shelter from any storm or danger.
