Robin
Basic File
Personal Info
A girl known for aiding those in need in the Abyss and sparing of speech. To such an extent that even those she helps rarely exchange words with her. Hence, the title of "The Lone Wanderer."
Rumors claim her strength is beyond measure, that no foe has ever forced her to fight seriously.
Those remain unverified, but one thing is certain: she roams the Abyss with great ease, a solid testament to her extraordinary strength that can dwarf ordinary Explorers.
Many teams have tried to recruit her. Some received outright refusals; others, only silence.
She has a habit of consulting books before taking action. Yet given her elusive nature, no one knows whether this ritual holds deeper meaning or if she just likes it.
Chronicles
My buddy and I were being chased down by a monster, just about ready to meet our maker. Then, she showed up!
The moment she appeared, she took that thing out with a single casual strike. And this was a beast the two of us could barely handle!
Honestly, if she went all out, she could probably wipe out a lord-class monster without breaking a sweat.
— A Rescued Explorer
She's sharp as a tack. Figured out a ton of Abyss exploration tricks all on her own, just by digging through old books and records.
After she started training under me to become an Explorer, her combat skills and understanding of the Abyss improved at an insane pace, way beyond what I expected.
Truth is, I ran out of things to teach her pretty quick. Wish I were stronger, maybe then I could've helped her go further.
But hey, with talent like hers? She'll be a top-tier Explorer in no time.
— Robin's Master
People mistake her being quiet for maturity. But the truth is she is very shy and indecisive. Growing up, she just went along with whatever we prepared for her.
If her teacher hadn't come knocking, we'd have never known how badly she wanted to explore the Abyss.
I used to be an Explorer myself, so I know exactly how brutal that world is. That's why I never wanted that life for her.
But after talking it over with her teacher, well, we decided to let her chase the life she truly wants.
— Robin's Mother
Record
News of the Lone Wanderer joining a team shocked many, sparking endless speculation about her capabilities.
With rumors painting her as near-invincible, everyone would hate to miss the chance to ask her directly.
But as it turns out... reality rarely lives up to myth.
According to Robin herself, "I always give what I've got; it's never as easy as people say." Somehow, though, her words never stick.
Before she could finish her explanation, people assumed she was being modest, leaving her to watch helplessly as the legends grew wilder.
Her answer threw the squad into a brief silence before they shrugged it off. "Well, if she were really that strong, she'd hardly be human anymore, right?"
As for the rumors about her pre-mission reading habits? Robin didn't respond.
She seems deeply uncomfortable speaking in front of others. After briefly addressing questions about her strength, she practically fled the scene...
Anecdote
Robin carries two things of utmost importance: the sword in her hand, and a book so worn its cover barely holds together.
When fear or weariness creeps in, she grips the hilt of her blade to calm herself down.
But when faced with important choices or hesitation, she turns to those heavily annotated pages.
"This Shade Sword belonged to my master. She gave it to me when I set off for the Abyss."
"She warned me this world is full of temptation. Lose your heart, and you'll be drowned in your own desires."
"I am afraid. Fear that I'll be tempted. Fear that I'll become just another aimless soul..."
"But when I grip this sword, it's like my master is here by my side. No matter how hopeless it turns out to be, I find the courage to keep moving forward."
"This book was my favorite and first book about the Abyss."
"The protagonist's name sounded almost like mine. Reading it felt like peering into another version of my life."
"That's why I dreamed of becoming a wanderer who could carve my own legend into the Abyss, just like the protagonist did."
"Now, whenever I stand at a crossroads, I open it again to find what that other me would choose."
