Osadin

Personal Info
Captain of the top-tier team Judgment Squad operating in the Abyss. A battle-hardened veteran, both brave and sharp, and highly respected by many Explorers.
Straightforward and fiercely principled, he's the first to step in when someone runs into trouble. He remains warm and courteous to all, making no distinction in how he treats people of different standing.
Past records, however, paint a very different picture of his early years. All of that change appears to stem from his time at the Explorer Academy.
The details are... complicated. If you're interested, you may ask him directly.
In conversation, Osadin makes no attempt to hide how much he admires the captain of the ACE Team.
According to him, the very reason he founded Judgment Squad in the first place was that he once failed to join ACE, and his goal for his squad is to one day stand as an expedition team on par with ACE.
Chronicles
Compared to those nameless nobodies, Osadin is certainly much stronger. But in my opinion? He only barely makes the cut.
Put him next to ACE's captain, and it's obvious he still falls short, whether it's personal charisma or the way he handles things.
Of course, he did his best. Among today's active Explorers, his performance is already quite impressive.

From what I've seen, Lord Osadin is wise, capable, and very polite—the members of the Judgment Squad admire him a great deal.
He's always willing to help others too. Explorer or Scavenger, he'll lend a hand whenever they need help.
But... he can go on at length whenever the former ACE captain comes up.
Everyone knows how much he admires the Captain, but if he could hold back his fanboy moments just a little, he might be even more popular.
— Liva
He's basically a celebrity in the Abyss now. Getting the chance to work with him is, well, quite the honor. Haha, kidding.
He may be my junior, but honestly, I don't have much right to judge him anymore.
His reputation and position alone speak volumes about his talent.
Sure, he might fall short in a few areas, but with his skill and the way he pushes himself, I'm sure he'll close those gaps soon enough, and become even more exceptional.

Record
Brave and fearless. That was the first impression Osadin left on the members after he arrived.
On his very first day officially joining the expedition team, he threw himself into missions, coordinating seamlessly with the others in combat.
When combat breaks out, he's at the front line without fail, setting the pace and driving the team through even the hardest assignments.
Some members even say that when you're fighting alongside Osadin, you forget all about tactics, and are left with just one thought: defeating the enemy.
Outside of battle, however, Osadin is relaxed, diligent, and generous.
He can strike up an easy conversation with just about anyone, and whenever he has a spare moment, he's either training hard or sparring with others, looking for any way to improve.
Osadin is still the captain of the Judgment Squad, but he allows the team to handle the day-to-day operations.
He leaves only when a major incident requires his attention, and even then, he's back as soon as things are settled.
His presence has not only sharpened the team's operational efficiency but also infused them with the mindset of today's top explorers, opening up far more possibilities for their future missions.
Anecdote
That day, after wrapping up an emergency for the Judgment Squad, Osadin was making his way back to the team. He happened upon a group of academy students doing field training in an Outpost.
Ah, youth... Back in my academy days, I met my seniors during field training—
He was just sinking into nostalgia when a sharp scream cut him off.
At once, the nearby students scattered, clearly unwilling to be noticed by a small group still standing in the middle.
Those few were kicking a frail-looking student on the ground and hurling insults.
Letting you help young master with his assessment was doing you a favor! How dare you throw it back in his face?
Careful now—no need to actually kill him. We're all classmates, remember?
We can't just let this useless trash walk away.
Heh. I never said I was letting him go.
The one they called young master crouched down, grabbed the youth by the hair, and yanked his head up.
You ruined my good mood. Tell me, how are you planning to make up for that?
How about this: crawl under our legs twice and call yourself trash. Do that, and I'll let you off.
Otherwise... heh. Even if you don't care about yourself, shouldn't you worry about what might happen to your parents?
Enough.
As the arrogant boy continued his brazen taunts, Osadin cut in. All eyes immediately turned to him.
Oh? Someone wants to play the hero?
Sir, do you even know who he is? How dare you, an Explorer, butt in?
I don't care who he is. You cannot bully someone.
Hah! What a joke. You really think you can lecture young master?
Their behavior brought back memories of his own reckless younger days, prompting Osadin to offer them another warning.
If you come from an important family, all the more reason to value your name. Don't throw it away with acts that shame your family. A wise man once said that to me, and today, I'll say the same to you.
So the old man insists on lecturing us? Then let's see if you've got the skill to back it up!
With a single command, the students rushed him. Osadin sighed helplessly, and moved to counter.
...
Moments later, the group was beaten black and blue, bowing their heads as they apologized and staggered away.
Remember this. If I see you pull something like that again, I won't go so easy on you!
Watching their sorry figures flee, Osadin rubbed his chin.
Wait... Did they just call me ‘old man'? Am I really that old?
