Personal Info

A member of the organization Key of Truth, Kuki came to the Abyss in pursuit of martial and arcane mysteries.
However, she joined the group in the first place only because two close friends were members.
Only after entering did she learn of the group's true objectives, and with a "why not give it a shot?" attitude, she began her journey.

Bubbly, optimistic, and adaptable, Kuki quickly befriends everyone around her.
She is an open book to everyone, radiating a guileless honesty.
She's straightforward and innocent, but at times, her overly optimistic nature and lack of foresight cause unintended trouble for herself and those around her.

Chronicles

Despite her youthful appearance, Kuki is already a veteran Explorer. Both in strength and Abyss experience, we're nowhere close.
What's more, she's completely down-to-earth. When teaming up with us, she'd crack jokes and roughhouse like one of the gang.
I once considered joining her expeditions, but gave up after learning she pursues the mysteries of martial and arcane arts. That's... beyond someone like me.

It's one thing for a child to be playful, but she takes it to extremes, with none of the elegance or modesty that you'd expect from a girl.
I tried taking her along during my lessons, hoping she'd learn from other well-mannered girls.
She failed to improve and nearly corrupted those proper young ladies!
So we enrolled her in an elite school with the help of others, thinking she'd pick up a thing or two. But instead, she ended up becoming the academy's prime example of what NOT to do!

Kuki's mother was my private tutor. She sometimes brought Kuki along. That's how we met.
Even then, she stood out. Just sitting quietly, she commanded attention like sunlight. It was hard to ignore her presence.
And she knew many things I'd never heard of or read in books. Every conversation was a journey into a new world.
Later, she invited me out, but before I could give an answer, her mother resigned. Next time we met was in Land of Mammon.

Record

Kuki's infectious spirit lights up the team; with her around, joys are never in short supply.
Everyone loves this spirited and cheerful girl. With her around, no matter how tough things get, nothing can bring them down.

But beyond her charm, Kuki commands respect through her skills.
She fights with razor focus, totally different from the carefree self in daily life.
A girl thriving in chaos with an uncanny ability to improvise.
And getting the job done.

She never forgets her duty as a Key of Truth member.
She engages everyone in discussions about martial arts and magic whenever possible, then compiles her (often wildly speculative) findings to share with the organization.
While her ideas sometimes raise eyebrows, that very audacity and imagination may hold the key to Limit Breaks in their impossible quest for knowledge.

Anecdote

With her parents often away for work, Kuki was raised by her grandfather—a former traveling merchant who'd braved the Abyss in his youth.
To young Kuki, he was a never-ending source of stories and sweets, the very embodiment of joy.
Until the day he collapsed.

Grandfather was diagnosed with a terminal disease. Though too young to understand, Kuki felt the weight in the doctors' sighs and her parents' grief.
After grueling treatments, her grandfather finally awoke.
But, he remained as cheerful as ever upon learning of his condition, as if the illness meant nothing.
He even comforted Kuki's parents, telling them that illness was just another part of life.

He told Kuki his tales as usual, but only now she was in no mood for it.
She understood "terminal" from overhearing the adults talk.
Terrified he'd leave, she desperately tried everything she could think of.
She tried to behave just like a perfect little girl would until he stopped her.
"Forcing yourself to act against your nature only hurts those who care about you," he said.
So she abandoned it and chose to stay by his side as long as possible, savoring every remaining moment.

On his deathbed, he held her trembling hands; the girl was sobbing uncontrollably.
"Life will throw countless unknowns at us. We can't choose what we face, but we can choose how we face them."
"Keep smiling, and no problem will defeat you."
Kuki didn't fully understand what her grandfather said. But she knew this much: He wanted her happiness. He wanted her to smile through it all.
