Ivorywing
Basic File
Personal Info
Born into a prestigious family of knights, she received rigorous training from a young age for the purpose of inheriting her family's title. To further hone her skills, she ventured into the Abyss.
Yet, she rarely speaks of her lineage. To most, she is simply a righteous, if somewhat rigid, Explorer, driven by a sense of justice.
She is powerful, but it is her generosity that defines her. She punishes the wicked while aiding the helpless, always willing to empty her own coffers for strangers.
Records confirm it, impoverished scavengers and injured Explorers with mobility issues have survived thanks to her charity and there are still many receiving her care.
This selflessness has earned her a title of her own, the Ivory Knight of Generosity.
Chronicles
When her parents fell in battle, she was too young to remember. Every time I visit, she begs me to tell stories about them.
Truth be told, my memories are limited. After a few times, I started repeating myself. Yet she never tires of hearing them, listening with the same attentiveness as if it were the first time.
— Ivorywing's Uncle
For generations—my grandfather, my father, myself, my son and his wife—we've all fought to uphold our family's honor.
But she abandoned her duty, forsook our legacy! As a former knight and now the head of this house, I cannot forgive this.
Yet... I'm also the grandfather who raised her. If it brings her happiness... how could I not wish her the best?
— Ivorywing's Grandfather
When she asked about a knight's duty, I told her a knight would fight for honor until death or incapacity claims you.
Perhaps my words shook her resolve and led her to her current path. But I stand by them.
Without absolute commitment, a knight dishonors their title, becoming nothing but another trophy on an enemy's blade.
— Ivorywing's Master
Lady Ivorywing saved us all! Without her, crippled old warriors like us would have been dead long ago.
She didn't just find us this safe haven; she established connections and created relief programs.
Therefore, we are allowed to earn more of what we need for life through simple tasks within our reach.
Her kindness is never about just lending a hand or providing funds that can only deal with difficulties at the moment; she helped us rebuild our lives and showed us how to maintain them. And that's a true act of redemption.

Record
Once acquainted with the team, Ivorywing sometimes shares fragments of her past.
She admits that her training in the Abyss was meant to be temporary. Yet, the longer she stayed, the less certain she became about claiming her birthright.
So she broke her promise. Instead of returning home and taking her family's title as sworn to her grandfather, she remained in the Abyss.
When speaking of this, guilt weighs heavily upon her. The dishonor of breaking her word still haunts her deeply.
In battle, Ivorywing is decisive. Flawless in both solo missions and teamwork.
But outside of duty, her life is starkly austere.
Without invitations from others, her days follow the same rhythm: train, rest, and repeat the routine.
Perhaps it has something to do with her knightly discipline. She does not seek pleasure, only purpose.
Yet, there is no need for concern. If she chooses to stay in the Abyss, it is because she seeks something here. All she needs is the moment that will finally make her shed the skin of a knight and embrace what she truly wishes to be.
Anecdote
Ivorywing had earned her place as a Reserve Knight. Once she comes of age, she will become a true knight that can bring honor to her family. All that remains is a matter of time.
Her grandfather and master were overjoyed. A grand feast was held in her honor, toasting her future as a knight of renown.
Yet, Ivorywing felt no joy. Only hesitation. And that hesitation came from two people: her uncle and her master.
Her uncle gifted her a hair ornament, one that had once belonged to her mother.
"Your mother," he told her, "was a girl who understood the world through her heart."
"She loved her brother, her parents, her beloved..."
"And to protect them all, she chose to become a knight."
Her master said, "Combat is the essence of a knight. Fight for honor. Fight for duty. Fight until your last breath."
She had heard it countless times, the same creed her grandfather had instilled in her since childhood. Become the finest knight and uphold the family's glory.
And so she had.
No matter how grueling the training, no matter how harsh the discipline, she endured it all, striving to match the legacy of her exemplary parents.
But now... She questioned it.
Why do I want to be a knight?
Her grandfather and master sensed her hesitation. To steel her resolve and to further hone her skills, they sent her to the Abyss.
On the day of her departure, Ivorywing wore her mother's hair ornament. She wanted to walk the same paths her mother once had, to feel what her mother had felt.
"If I can experience what she did... perhaps then, I'll have my own reason to be a knight."
