Case 1
Dosen doesn't even know why she was orphaned. Her parents told her to "wait for us here", so Dosen obediently stayed where she was and waited for them to come back.
However, no matter how long she waited, her parents never returned. Did they abandon her for any special reason? Or were they involved in some dispute and couldn't come back? Dosen, who never got an answer, was left alone in this strange town.
The one who took in Dosen is a woman who claimed to be an Onmyoji. The woman raised Dosen and taught her all Onmyoji skills. Dosen is grateful to the woman from the bottom of her heart. As Dosen grew up, however, she started to vaguely realize the woman was not a real Onmyoji, but a trickster for money.
Case 2
In fact, Dosen discovered the truth long ago: Her foster mother is a charlatan.
But Dosen believed that at least her foster mother's love for her is definitely real, so she happily spent every day with herfoster mother.
Unfortunately, lies will be uncovered one day. Her foster mother was arrested on charges of cheating money under the guise of an Onmyoji. The high walls of the prison separated them.
Dosen understands that her foster mother is not a good person, but she never doubted about her foster mother's love for her. For the same reason, Dosen continues to dress up as an Onmyoji.
Case 3
"I'm very sorry. I have no money to buy your rice ball."
Seeing the rice ball handed out by Dosen, the poor man said. Dosen is a merchant. Since she's a merchant, she won't offer anything to others for free. The poor man in front of her is dying. Even if he is given a rice ball, he will only live a little longer.
"Give me the money for the rice ball after you're out of the ruck." After finishing speaking the words, Dosen put the rice ball into the man's hand.
Maybe this man will die today. Or maybe one day he will return to repay my favor? Dosen hopes that he can survive.
Just as the foster mother who took in Dosen expected her to have a bright future, Dosen would also like to try to look forward to the promising future of others. Her foster mother taught her the means and ways of survival as a merchant, and the investment principle of following "what your heart desires". Dosen always remembers this lesson.
